Our beloved temple is sustained by the kindness of our members and friends.
There are so many ways that you can help our community and our cause. Please consider these ways to give:

Volunteer Hours

It is a great way to meet others and feel good about yourself. Contact Kala Sheckler to find out about volunteer opportunities at temple.

If you have special skill or talent that could benefit the temple, please consider serving on a committee. You may be just what we need! Please contact Renee Gold for more information.

Making a Donation is Simple!

Enter how much you would like to donate, specify if you would like the donation to be applied to a particular cause, and contribute directly from your PayPal account or by using your credit card. You do not need a PayPal account to contribute and your transaction is secure.

Temple Funds

There are so many exciting ways to give to temple, and each gift is tax-deductible.

Please see below for more information on how to:

  • Make a donation
  • Become part of our honored Cornerstone Society
  • Honor a loved one through a major gift
  • Make a dollar-a-day commitment
  • Earn income through a charitable gift annuity
  • Shop online
  • Remember the temple in your will
  • Designate your gifts to sponsor a particular program

Every small donation comes together to make a big difference. All donations over $18 can be designated in honor of or in memory of a friend or loved one, and the temple will send a beautiful card to the address of your choosing. These gifts are also listed in each month’s bulletin. You may wish to purchase a sanctuary pew plate or leaf on the Tree of Life to celebrate a special simcha. We also have beautiful memorial plaques available that display on the walls in our sanctuary. Please contact Bonnie at temple for more information.

Cornerstone Society

A growing number of temple members are voluntarily raising their annual dues to help support the temple as Benefactors ($10,000), Pillars ($5000), and Sustainers ($3000). We are presently 2/3 of the way toward our goal of 36 households in the Cornerstone Society. Members of the society receive special benefits and invitations, plus the gratitude of a most thankful congregation. For more information, please contact Michael Richker or Rabbi Glickman.

Earn Money for your Gift

With a charitable gift annuity, you can make a gift to the temple and earn phenomenal interest for as long as you live. The interest rate varies by age, but in most cases the return is significantly higher than a bond or CD. For instance, an 80-year-old donor receives 8% interest each year for life. It is a most secure and tax-advantaged way to give and invest. For more information, please contact Bernice G. Stern.

Estate Giving

We hope you will please consider naming the temple in your will. All bequests, unless otherwise directed, go to our Endowment Fund in order to support the temple for years to come. You can leave behind a lasting legacy, and support Jewish continuity for generations to come. Please contact Dan Carter for more information. We are creating a special plaque to hang in the lobby honoring all those who have named the temple in their wills.

Online Shopping

This is the most fun way to give to temple – while you shop! Through a special partnership with www.igive.com, you can shop at hundreds of websites and 1-5% of your money spent will go to our dear temple. All you have to do is register once at www.igive.com, accept the toolbar, and then the rest is automatic. Every time you go to Amazon.com, or Target.com, or wherever you like to shop most, the temple gets a donation. Click here for more information. Sign-up now and give it a trial run!

Designated Giving

You can designate your gift to one of a many different funds and programs at temple.
Simply send your check to temple earmarked toward any of these worthwhile funds:

To maintain the Ark and Torah Scrolls: and to purchase Bibles, Torah Commentary Books and Prayer Books.

To make major improvements and repairs to the Temple’s buildings and grounds.

To subsidize the General Fund operating expenses. You may designate your donation to one of the following:

  • Adult Education
  • General
  • Music
  • Religious School
  • Social Action

Used to support the General Fund.

To purchase books and supplies for the Opher Adult Library and the Lewis Children’s Library.

Used at the discretion of the Senior Rabbi.

To purchase and maintain computers for the
children and staff of the Pre School.

For student scholarships and special
programs for the Preschool.

To provide scholarships for Religious School students to all Jewish camps. It may also be used to assist the youth of our Temple as deemed necessary.

Please make checks payable and to the attention of: Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood.

To provide a recurring source of income to the Temple from the proceeds of investments. Interest income and dividends that accrue from investments are donated to the Temple. The investments are in the form of stock, mutual funds, CDs, bonds and other assets that may be donated.

A portion of the income derived is retained and reinvested in the fund to assure its continued growth. Recently, unbudgeted special needs such as: new alarm system, sound system and carpeting for Sudakoff Hall have resulted from that fund. Donations to help the fund grow so that more monies will be available are welcome and needed. Please consider the fund when you do estate planning and bequests for the future.

For planned giving advice please contact the members of the Endowment Fund.
